Phoning in the Sternal Journal is an act of self-care
Two shows and a social experiment you can play on yourself
Hello Sternal Journalists!
Went to another wedding this weekend so I’m tuckered to the max (calculated that I’ve been to 24 in my adult life! Yeesh!) Twill be yet another quick, rough one this week, but I’ll try to make it meaningful. I have TWO SHOWS this week:
Shut Up and Laugh. Wednesday. Hollywood. Ticket here. Deets below. Very fun one.
And then on Friday, we’re celebrating the four-year anniversary of met dear Friend Max Mielecki’s show Further. It’s always a good time and some funny people are booked. Deets here.
And then holyyy shiiit Edinburgh Fringe Fest tickets are LIVE. If you’re in the UK or Europe in August, you can buy your tickets right now!
Okay, and now onto the event of the week. It’s a new game I made up called…
What kinda week ya gonna have?
I have prepared three of the greatest songs of all time, and randomly placed them in the links below. Now your only job is to pick one, listen to it, and let it guide you to start your week. The caveat is don’t click on the other ones! Keep it honest, keep it fair!
You get what you get, and none of them are duds. If anything profound happens, feel free to share. Or just keep it to yourself. Whatever’s good for you! Okay, here we go. Choose wisely (don’t choose wisely! They’re all wise choices!)
And—as I am really actually trying to be in bed by 11 this week, that is my only recommendation! Listen to one of those songs in full and neither of the other ones and just have a really nice time with it. Then come to my show on Wednesday, and buy a ticket to my Edinburgh show if you’re out there!
Always remember, phoning in the Sternal Journal from time to time is an act of self-care. I hope you give yourself a little bit of whatever your version of that is this week.
Much love!
Julian
