Est. Read Time: 6 minutes (including 5 minute watch time!). Read (and watch!) Time brought to you once again by the Ashburton Energy + Hair Logistics Group, in association with the Bradley Hills Bureau of Corrections.
UPCOMING SHOWS:
Sunday Funday 3/27 8PM. Yes, it’s the night of the Oscars. Come ooon, you really gonna watch live? Is it gonna be as fun as what happened at my last show? Where I performed in a clown nose and with next to a guy dressed like me?? At the Oscars? Probably not!
Heyyyya Sternal Journalists!
Truly classic Sternal Journal move: I lied again. Last week, I said I would be delivering you a Sternal Journal Interview but I’m so pleased with how it’s coming along that I want to deliver the best quality product and take one more week to give it to you.
In the meantime, I’ve got a brand new and very polished stand-up set that I’d love you to take a gander at if you’re in the mood for that sort of thing:
Even if you don’t want to watch the set, you gotta love the sweater (credit to Kristen!).
And even if you don’t like the sweater (impossible!), here are some recommendations for things I loved this week!
Recommendations
Severance. Television. I’m an episode behind, but I’ve been really enjoying this AppleTV+ office sci-fi thriller about a workplace that incentivizes employees to fully uncouple their work memories from their non-work memories. Spooky and funny!
Doctor My Eyes. Song. Stumbled upon this song by Jackson Browne earlier this week and I’ve had it on repeat.
Mixtape. Podcast. 5-episode banger of a miniseries from the RadioLab team that talks about the impact of cassette tapes on all sorts of facets of our culture.
Annunciation. Short Story. I picked up a recent issue of the New Yorker to read over breakfast a few mornings ago and started reading this story by Lauren Groff, thought it was boring a half a page in, then was suddenly floored by a paragraph about a tree and finished it slowly over the last few days. I think it’s now one of my favorite short stories ever!
And that’s all! I’ll be back next week with that interview.
All of the love!
Julian
