Literally just walked back in the door from a wonderful weekend doing shows in San Diego, so this will be quick. Two things about that:
I wanna do more stand-up trips like this SD one! Therefore, I have a mailing list now. I know you’re reading this in a literal mailing list, which some of you even pay for. So I know I have no business asking you to sign up for another mailing list.
But! This is a mailing list only for when I’m doing shows in your city. It takes 5 seconds to fill out and you will only ever receive a correspondence on it when I have a show in your area. It also helps me determine where the most people wanna see me perform. But truly no presh.I saw this urinal at a brewery today:
This is post-flush, I swear I’m not making you look at my piss. But I just wanna say I love this so much. If you can’t tell, it has been repurposed from a keg.
It is tacky and fratty, and even insinuates, “Our beer’s so good, it’s got piss in it!” but dammit, I love a creative urinal. Someone had to cut and weld (or solder?) this to be usable without being dangerous. This is craftsmanship. It is a piece of guerrilla sculpture and the world is a better place for it.
Also, I had a ton of fun at Mic Drop, Mad House, the Mission Bay Beach & Ski Club (who were very nice, even though they threatened to scalp my manbun), and the Don’t Tell at Carruth Cellars in Solana Beach (try the Surah!). If you’re around SD, check those places out!

What if ayahuasca made you stop podcasting? Podcast Episode. I did a lot of driving this weekend, so I’ve mostly got pod recs this week! This episode from Search Engine, PJ Vogt’s follow-up to Reply All, follows a hot take-contrarian podcaster’s psychedelic journey into no longer feeling online rage. Discourse around psychedelics tends to fall into annoying or making-fun-of, and I thought this conversation was a balanced new perspective that didn’t really take a side. Just told a story that I thought was interesting!
United Healthcare Episode of Trevor Noah’s “What Now?” Podcast Episode. Out of all the chatter I’ve read or seen around this story, this was the first piece of media that I think successfully held the awe, the gravity, and the intrigue of it all.
Doechii on Colbert. Musical Performance. Saw this on Tiktok. Extremely rad.
You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch [Tyler’s Version]. Song. I forgot Tyler, The Creator did music for the 2018 Grinch. If you’re looking for something to spice up your holiday party playlists, this could be the move.
